R. Bruce Miller/Founder and Chairman


R. Bruce Miller along with his wife Angela pastor The Lord’s Church of Wilmington. They met while in their last year of college; she at

Duke University and he at UNC-Chapel Hill. They both earned Bachelor of Arts Degrees, Bruce in Political Science and Angela in Zoology and Sociology. They were married in May of 1980 and have been blessed with nine children.

Ordained into the office of Pastor in 1991 they have established various ministry programs including; Prison Outreach, Praise & Worship, Nursing Home Ministry, Street Evangelism, Men & Women Fellowships, and Marriage & Family Counseling.

Sornatha Walker Fulford/Vice Chair-Treasurer

Sornatha Walker Fulford was born in SC, raised in NC, and graduated from New Bern Senior High School in 1975. She gained her initial interest and experience in human services, Head Start programs and HUD Low-Income Housing, through an afterschool work experience program sponsored by the local community action agency. After graduation, she continued to raise a son, married, had a daughter, and enrolled in the Accounting program at Craven Community College. In 1978, she and her family moved to Columbus, OH, (daughter passed shortly thereafter), where she resided for 30+ years before relocating to Wilmington, NC, in 2010. Sornatha earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The Ohio State University, School of Public Policy and Management, in 1989. She remarried in 1990, and continued to develop a career in Head Start programs, community development, and nonprofit organizational consulting. She also co-owned a package delivery company, obtained minister’s license, and founded Believers In Liberty, Inc., a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In 2005, she received an honorary doctorate degree in Church Organization and Administration, from FMTU of San Diego, CA, which was conferred in recognition of her many years of service and assistance to numerous ministries, nonprofit organizations, associations, and charter schools. Her expertise includes nonprofit organization start up and development, IRC 501(c)(3) tax exempt applications, grant-writing, business planning, etc. Her volunteer services have included Board President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. She currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer for Operation Legacy Development Corporation. Sornatha has been a musician and praise and worship leader since her youth. She and son, Ivan, are currently members of The Lord’s Church of Wilmington.


Valerie J. Galloway/Secretary 

Wife of James Galloway and mother of 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Galloway currently holds the position of Secretary and Praise and Worship Co-leader for The Lord's Church of Wilmington, NC. Co-founder and Vice President of GBP God Be Praised Record Label and Production Company. Over 15 years experience in the Property Management field with a background as a Certified Public Housing Manager. Mrs. Galloway served as Citizen Liaison for Chief Wadman of the Wilmington Police Department. She also served as

Operated as Chairperson of the Protective Services Task Force formed by the former Mayor of the city of Wilmington, NC, Don Betz. Received several awards for community service that included an award for Outstanding Citizen Participation presented by Mayor Betz. She also served as a member of URIA, Untied Resources in Action, who were service providers of New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties.

Jeremy Hardy, Board Member


Jeremy is married to Meghan, father to 2 daughters Olivia and Celia.  He graduated from Bluefield College with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communications and now serves as Executive Director with Vigilant Hope..  Jeremy and his family moved to Wilmington from Bluefield WV where he served in ministry at a local church and a small Christian college. He has a big passion for those suffering with poverty and loves sharing how we can help in a proper way. 


Gwen Carr/Board Member


A native of Wilmington and NC Minister. Carr is the wife of Elder Thomas Carr and the mother of 3 sons and 3 grandchildren. Mrs. Carr is also a member of The Lord's Church Praise and Worship Team. She has served in a professional capacity for both profit and non-profit organizations. She has a deep understanding of various economic and social issues that the community faces. Mrs. Carr's experience includes serving as Vice-President for TGC Consulting LLC, and also on the board for Cure Aids of Wilmington.


Bobby Steger/Board Member


Married 26 1/2 years to his wife Chris, a teacher in New Hanover County. She is also his partner in different ministries and mission works. He is the father of a daughter who teaches middle school math, science and a son currently enrolled at UNC-Wilmington. Both son and daughter partner in ministries and missions.


Bob is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington with a BA in Sociology and a BS in Computer Programming. He currently splits his time self-employed in construction and maintenance, and works with Vigilant Hope, a local non-profit. He volunteers in the school system tutoring/mentoring at-risk kids in middle school. He is involved in homeless, low income, food ministries and construction. He is an Elder at Myrtle Grove EPC where he has been a member for the last 28 years.
